Woodbury To Host Open House Tuesday On Central Park Renovation Plans
WOODBURY, MN — Woodbury officials are eyeing renovations on the city’s two-decade-old Central Park and want residents to help shape their plans.
The city is set to host an open house at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodbury Central Park, 8595 Central Park Place, to hear from residents about what renovations and upgrades they’d like to see.
City officials are also asking residents to share their thoughts about potential renovations in an online survey.
“The City of Woodbury is planning a renovation project to ensure Central Park remains a vibrant and relevant destination for our community for years to come,” officials state in the survey. “While that plan is primarily focused on addressing maintenance, environmental and accessibility issues of the building, there is also an opportunity to assess how the facility meets the community’s needs.”

Woodbury officials are hoping to secure $15 million in funding from the state to cover part of the project, which could cost up to $40 million, the Twin Cities Pioneer Press reported.
Central Park shares a complex with R.H. Stafford Library, Lookout Ridge Indoor Playground and a YMCA location.
Woodbury will likely have to cover about two-thirds of the project’s total cost, with Washington County to finance the other third, the report states.
