Jenson Button’s Palm Springs House Is A Slice Of Life In The Slow Lane

For a man who’s spent his life driving as fast as physics will allow, Jenson Button certainly knows how to slow down and put his feet up once in a while, with his house in Palm Springs serving as the location of choice in recent years. While Button and his wife Brittny spend most of their time at their main residence in Bel Air, the Palm Springs home was bought as a project in 2020 and has since become a quiet slice of Californian calm.

Jenson and his wife Brittny recently opened their charming wooden doors to the good folks at Architectural Digest, offering a glimpse into their recently renovated Spanish Revival home. Complete with views of distant San Jacinto mountains, Button’s residence includes a large outdoor garden and entertaining area, fitted out with a pool, outdoor kitchen or dining area and a separate guest house from the main residence.

The property enjoys its entire third of an acre block, with the main house offering an expansive three thousand square foot interior that includes a trio of bedrooms and bathrooms. However, when the property was first purchased back in 2020, it looked vastly different to its current state of calm elegance.

When the Buttons moved in, both the living room and kitchen looked the same as they did when they’d been fitted out in the ’90s, resulting in both rooms being entirely redone. In the style of the true Spanish Revival home, much of the refurbishment enjoys classic design cues of white walls, exposed ceiling beams and a rustic approach to furnishing.

With raw timber accounting for much of the contrasting texture that breaks up the unending shades of bone, cream or off-white, you’ll find attractive natural wood graining on the doors and ceiling support beams, as well as some of the furniture. The entire interior design of the property was handled by Brittny Button and her trusted confidant Tanya Stone, who runs her own interior design studio and worked intimately with Brittny to ensure the home had exactly the right feel.

Now the home has enjoyed a breath of fresh air, the Buttons have been enjoying the property ever since. For how long is unclear, however, as it was reported the couple had listed the property for sale in January of 2022 for just US$3.5 million (AU$4.9 million) after paying just US$925,000 (AU$1.3 million) back in 2020. Regardless of the impending fate of the home, it’s a tasteful renovation that shows even the world’s fastest drivers love to hit the brakes sometimes.
