The renovation of Beacon House is now underway, with Vision Bermuda aiming to raise $90,000 in order to “fully restore and equip our building to service the blind and visually impaired in our community.”
A spokesperson said, “Vision Bermuda is delighted to share the news that the long awaited and much needed renovation of Beacon House is now well underway. It is anticipated that the construction phase will be completed by May 31 and that the building will be ready for occupation this summer.
“However, to complete the final stages of the Beacon House renovation, we need to raise $90,000. With these funds, we will be able to fully restore and equip our building to service the blind and visually impaired in our community.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generous cash and in-kind donations that we have received thus far. Our capital campaign has received tremendous support from the Hamilton Lions Club/Lions Clubs International Foundation, members of the Board, and many private and corporate donors.
“If you would like to be a beacon of hope for this community and help to restore Beacon House, the national center for vision rehabilitation therapy services in Bermuda, please consider donating today. Naming opportunities are available for donations of over $15,000.
“Donations can be made via any of the following:
- directly to Vision Bermuda’s bank account at Butterfield Bank account 20006060513842100 [marked “Capital campaign”]; or
- by mail to PO Box HM 2554, Hamilton HM KX.
“Thank you in advance for your kind consideration. For further information, or to ask about possible in-kind donations, please don’t hesitate to call us at 292 3231.”
